Líneas de sangre - Tipícidad y Standard

Pigmentation

There are many misunderstandings about the Labrador Retriever pigmentation. It is not disqualified by different pigments in the British standard, but in the U.S., dogs lacking brown or black pigmentation in their nose and eye rims are disqualified.

In Canada it is considered a major failure. There is a difference between the discoloration of the nose being pink in the winter or by age (but not the rim of the eyes) to a pink nose always "Dudley nose" and the lack of pigmentation in eye rims in a yellow that genetically lack this coloration and it is eebb.

Discolored nose should not be penalized, as long as the yellow eebb is outside the standard. A dog must have a chocolate brown pigmentation on its nose and the corners of their eyes.
